A Druid's Path (An Introduction to a Course on Druidry)Druidry is a personal path. There is no guide book, no set of rules. It may begin with a yearning to get back to nature. This may grow into a desire to honour the Earth and all that she offers. And in that honour, a realisation of the Spirits of Place and the Elements of Nature. Druidry is the connection, the bridge, between the physical world and Otherworld. It offers a journey of self discovery, self healing, and personal growth. This is an introductory evening, a prelude to the eight month course that will begin in February 2009. Come along with any questions you may have about Druidry or the course. In essence the course begins, at Samhain, with a step of commitment. For those wishing to continue, there will be preparatory work to do through the Winter Season. |

A Druid's PathDruidry is a celebration of our Life. Rooted deep in the Earth, it helps us to discover who we are, why we are here, and how we can best live this incarnation. This involves personal reflection and a coming to terms with many things that have happened to us in this (and, sometimes, previous) incarnations. In celebrating Life, we celebrate the dark and light aspect of ourselves. We learn to face who we are and in this we find an inner strength. A Druid's Path will lead us through interesting places, to find secret groves, to meet interesting beings. But we do not undertake this path alone. For we are treading the path of our Ancestors, we have their support and that of our guides and helpers. These we will meet along the way in Otherworld and some of them may want to come and work with you in this world. Druidry is not something we can 'do' from time to time, it is something we 'are'. It becomes our way of life. There is no right or wrong way to become a Druid. I will be giving you a structure in which you will find your own Druidry. Please be aware that this course will involve homework to be done between the meetings and this will help you find your own Druidic Path. There is preparatory work to do before attending this course. If you would like to discuss this course further or if you are unable to attend the introductory evening (above), please let me know in good time that you are interested in taking this course (info@earthshinegrove.org.uk). |
